Produce and direct all re-enactments.
Work with the Moroni’s Quest Coordinators (Monsons) and Production Director (Lori Wilson) on any script changes.
It is recommended that the actors be called from the pool of volunteers that will already be present.
Call a sound and lighting crew and purchase or obtain a high quality sound system. Music and sound effects are key to the success of this project.
Call props people to provide props for all re-enactments.
Call makeup and hair people.
Call and work with a music chairperson for additional musical numbers.
Help with “Quest for Light” activity on Friday evening.
Work closely with the Set Design and Building Committee who will help in making some of the sets.
Work with Costume/clothing committee
Work with the Tribe Leaders who will be involved in some of the re-enactments and will be leading discussions after the re-enactments.

Call a costume crew to provide costumes for all actors. This can include a costume designer, several seamstresses, and will coordinate with the producer. Costumes need to be streamlined and have continuity between re-enactments.
Costumes should be one size fits all so we can use them in 4 more years for different size actors next time, or make room for alterations.
Each costume goes into an individual bag with label for inventory.
There will be a costume tent outside the stage at Quest. Costume crew will need to be present during Quest to help with any last minute adjustments, and organize costumes before and after production.
Coordinate with media and communications to make instruction video for each ward ym/yw, giving examples of how to make costumes appropriate for Quest.
Assist MQ Production Director with production of sets.
Design a flag pole for the tribe leader flag and make (?) of them.
Build 1 stage roughly 16’ x 24’, 30” high, trusses and ¾” plywood.
Make a wall for the reenactment involving Samuel the Lamanite. (If we reserve Badger Creek this will not be necessary)
Build a fire for the burning of Abinadi and a pit of fire for the Alma and Amulek scene.
Build a ship.
Build a prison of styrofoam blocks that can be torn down.
Build a rod of iron and find an appropriate tree of life and paint it white. It should be lit up for the evening re-enactment. The Great and Spacious building can be the reverse side of the Samuel the Lamanite wall.
Work closely with the Production Committee set design person.
Help set up stages for dress rehearsal and during quest production..

Have 3 or 4 meetings with the Tribe Leaders starting in January 2024. These meetings will involve going over the re-enactments and training the Tribe Leaders in the discussions. The discussions will be centered around the kinds of questions that the Leaders could ask during the breakout discussions times.
Attend Quest and conduct a prayer meeting each morning/evening with the Leaders and go over the schedule for each day.
Decide on locations for each tribe discussion.
Lead an adult discussion group for anyone that is watching the re-enactments that are not in a tribe.
Book the reservation for Rock Creek or Badger Creek Oct. 23, 30th.
We would like to have activities that are similar to activities mentioned in the Book of Mormon.
Make leather bound Book of Mormons for all Youth Participants and Tribe Leaders.
Obtain trinkets, beads, leather necklace material and a metal washer for the making of the necklaces. The trinkets will be symbolic of the re-enactments that the tribes will watch. They will all be premade by this committee.
This Committee will run the activities starting at 2:15pm on Thursday. During this activity, 3 things will be worked on: leather stamping, metal punching and writing a word on the small wooden sword. You will have about 30 people and 45 minutes. You will repeat this activity 4 times. This is subject to change. We may have time Friday to write words on the swords.
2 other activities will be axe throwing and archery. These need to be well supervised and have well defined rules as it pertains to throwing and retrieval of the axes or arrows. Medical committee people should be in attendance during these activities. (Nate Madsen)
Make swords and shields as needed. Stake Young Men leaders will be asked to be the War Captains and work with the Production Committee in describing the rules for each war and getting the armies motivated to fight.
Last activity will be building/lashing King Benjamin’s towers. This will be run by the Stake YM. This activity is subject to change, we should have access to the 40 ft. climbing wall.
The leather bound Books of Mormon will be used during the activity when they are stamped with leather stamping tools. Some may only want to stamp their initials or names, others may also want to add more designs. It will be an individual thing.
During the activity, participants will also stamp a word on the washer (?) that they think describes them. This part of the activity is called “What’s my Word”.
Make about 150 small wooden swords that the youth and tribe leaders will write a word on that represents something they want to “bury”.

Provide a meal for the set up crew on the Wednesday night before Quest.(?)
Prepare and serve 8 meals. In addition to the meals there are several snack times on the schedule that will need a small snack. The menu will be discussed and approved by the Stake Leaders.

Coordinate with the Camp Committee on cleaning stations, meal tents, picnic tables.
Provide paper plates and plastic cutlery for each meal.

Can assign ward leaders to help with food prep during the day when they are free. Coordinate with the Monsons on people available.

Be involved in assignment the camp locations of all ward and stake leader camp sites. Any extra tents for ward sites will be set up by the wards. Ward leaders will sleep in the assigned ward camps and supervise youth at night.
Helpers on various committees that have their own campers, trailers or motorhomes will be provided a separate area to set up.
Tribe leaders and ward leaders will all stay the night. Ward leaders stay with their wards and tribe leaders together in their own camp area (TBD).
Bishops, Ward YM and YW presidents should be informed of all details involving ward camps and their responsibilities as related to supervision, garbage cleanup, firewood and any other information related to the ward camp.
Set up the main eating area at the lodge. Set up picnic tables, and chairs, which are provided by Badger Creek.
Provide tents for costume and makeup.
Provide water coolers with water bottles at production sites.
Assign ward YM/YW leaders for washroom cleaning/re-stocking duties morning and night. Coordinate people available for this with the Monsons.
Provide firewood for each ward site. Coordinate with ward YM and YW leaders for assistance with this.
Provide garbage removal. Can contact Badger Creek for details.
Provide wood for 12 campsites for evening campfires. (Badger creek already has campfire rings for each ward)
Coordinate with all Committees on location of any Committee tents.

Help Moroni’s Quest Directors (Monsons) create a website with registration info and other pertinent info hopefully by January, 2024.
Send out announcements to ward bulletin people, including a posters for each building.
Create a ½ page flyer to hand out at the Feb. 25th fireside. This can be a small version of the poster in each building.
Make a booklet for each participant called “The Liahona”. This booklet will contain a copy of the schedule, a site map and words to songs they will be asked to sing during the reenactments. This booklet will be carried by each participant in their satchel at all times. Work with the Monsons on info for this
Obtain high quality radios for all Committee Leaders. (The number of radios needed will be discussed)
Ensure that radios are charged each day.
Collect letters from parents.

Provide security against animals and people who may enter the camp uninvited.
Monitor the main entrance to the camp and ensure that people entering the camp are participants and are not just there to visit.
Help to patrol camp day and night on foot to keep youth in their tents after curfew.

Arrange transportation for all participants and their gear to and from Badger Creek.
Coordinate with the Camp committee (Levi Chandler) as to labeling gear in ward units, where the personal packs are to be dropped off at Badger Creek.
Take gear to individual campsites while youth continue with their schedule on Thursday morning. When they finally arrive at their campsite, their gear will be there!
Help with the transportation of materials and equipment. Coordinate with all other committees to help with the transportation of anything that needs to be taken to and from the camp. ie. tents, tables, chairs, props etc.
Provide vehicles (quads or side by sides) for the periodic movement of cast and crew around the campsite. Work with Monsons on coordinating with Badger Creek on guidelines and available equipment.
Have an emergency evacuation plan in the event that severe weather or any other natural occurrence like fire may necessitate a quick evacuation.

Have on site people to photograph and video all re-enactments, and the entire MQ experience. Coordinate the schedule with the Monsons, plan ahead and be prepared for events.
Put together a video to be watched at the final fireside after Quest.
